TOP 10 Dennis Ferrer productions you must hear (if you haven’t already)

We compiled this little list ahead of his Defected Zagreb gig 26th of April 2025.
Make no mistake, this one is very personal to me, so it's entirely subjective!

People who know me personally and musically probably know Dennis Ferrer is my absolute favorite house music artist since as long as I can remember.

His productions are some of the most original house music ever to be created - and that says a lot about this guy. Although this might be a very subjective article, his mastery is not subjective at all - he truly is one of the greatest ever to produce house music. Period.

So without me getting into too much text and too little music, here are my top 10 Dennis Ferrer productions (and some honorable mentions).

10. Blaze feat. UDAUFL & Barbara Tucker - 'Most Precious Love' (DF's Future 3000 Mix)

An absolute classic - a track that changed house music at the time of its release. Even though it's not an original track, he certainly made it his own and made it a huge house music anthem it is today.

9. Dennis Ferrer - 'Church Lady' (Original)

The World As I See It, his debut album, was and still is one of the most original albums in house music, where practically every track is a hit - be it thanks to its soulful or techy tracks, the whole album is a masterpiece that everyone should listen to! Church Lady is definitely one of the highlights from the 2007 album.

8. Fish Go Deep & Tracey K - 'The Cure & The Cause' (Dennis Ferrer Remix)

Another one from his remix catalog, and one that probably "everybody knows." Just like with Most Precious Love, he touches the original, enhances it, and make it a hit track that it still is today. Absolute classic.

7. Dennis Ferrer featuring Janelle Kroll 'Mind Ur Step'

This one just hits so hard and more than 10 years after its release, it still is one of my favourite Dennis tunes that can easily be played today. Talk about timeless.

6. Dennis Ferrer - 'Son Of Raw'

A hypnotic journey with organs, stabs, relentless groove and just a feeling like no other.

5. Dennis Ferrer - 'Hit It Off'

I think this might be the second track from Ferrer that I've ever heard, and you've guess it - I've got it on vinyl! Sampling 'We Got to Hit It Off' by Mille Jackson, Dennis transforms the track into a soulful, sax driven beautifulness that transports me to some other house music dimension everytime I hear it!

4. Dennis Ferrer - 'Hey Hey'

I guess there's not one serious house music lover that hasn't heard this one and danced to it while singing along with it just like the rest of us. When this one came out in 2010 it was unlike anything we heard before, production wise, with such a cool and catchy vocal to boot. My goodness, that one was and still is one of the best house music tracks of all time.

3. Dennis Ferrer - 'Sinfonia Della Notte'

I dont' know how to explain why this track is number three. It's just so fucking good it's crazy. Another look into Dennis' masterful production and musical skills.

2. Dennis Ferrer and Jerome Sydenham - 'Sandcastles' (Pete Heller's Filtered Edit)

The very first track I heard from Ferrer. An absolute forever house music classic with some techno influence production wise, Sandcastles stood the test of time for more than 20 years. It has been remixed a bunch of times, and might I add, not one remix is bad. You can't make a bad remix of such a complete composition unless you are a complete wanker. With Sydenham on the production chair as well, and Pete Heller on the edit duties, this version is by far the best one and probably the most played one by DJs all over the world.

1. London Grammar - 'Sights' (Dennis Ferrer Remix)

While some of you might or might not agree with me on this one being number one, I have to remind you that I gave out a warning at the beginning of this article - this list is completely subjective - this is my point of view. And this remix is probably one of the tracks I played the most in my life - from Ferrer for sure, but it's also one of those that I play at least few times a year, and have been doing so for the last 10 years. It's just....I mean...just listen to it...
