It's no secret we love Ros T. Ever since we heard his collaboration with Franky Rizardo ‘Out The Fire’ we fell in love with his diverse but unique sound.
Ladies and gents, we give you - Ros T!
Who are you, and what do you do?
I’m Ros T originally from the Isle of Skye in Scotland but now living in Glasgow. I started DJ’n at 15 and started producing when I was 17, turning 30 this year.
How did your latest release on Dobar House came to be? Tell us about how you started the track, what inspired you etc.
That track has a bit of a journey, I started it 3 years ago, but it was only a blueprint, then I came back to it end of last year and went on to finish it this year and got in touch with Tom Bug at Dobar House, he loved it and the rest is history 😄.
Where was your favourite gig so far and why was it special for you?
My favourite gig so far has to be in Exeter when I was asked to headline at “Groove Collabs” night at club “Move”. 400 people there to see me and all my music, it was just unreal.
If you had to choose: DJ-ing or producing?
I love them both just as much, but producing has taken over 90% of my time because I want to leave this world with enough of my own tracks, once my music has hit a big point the gigs will come into their own world so I don’t stress to much about gigs atm. Once I get my album finished I’ll get myself back into the circuits, I don’t like asking for gigs, I want to be booked because of my music, full stop.
What's next for you in the coming months?
Well of course the Tom Bug & Austin Ato remixes end of this month, DJ’n down in Wales at Westival where Dan Shake is headlining this summer, I have 2 new tracks on the way with Franky Rizardo, and there’s a possibility of a freelance documentary maker wanting to do an episode on me as the “next up & coming artist”. So pretty exciting things ahead. I feel a lot of my milestones have been hit, so now I’m just going to let the music take me where ever I need to be 😄. Maybe out to Dobar House parties at some point ;) haha.
Why is Dobar House the best label on the planet earth?
I really love Dobar House because they let you be fully creative and that in my opinion is where the magic happens. To much these days things are put into categories, and I think bridging between them is an even bigger advantage, but too many artists are put off doing this because people only want a certain thing at a time from an artist/producer, but everyone’s time will come under the right setting I always believe 😄💪🏼.
Cheers for now,
Ros T
