ARTIST HIGHLIGHT: NESI

Barcelona-based DJ and house producer NESI, a resident at W Hotels and Tunnel Barcelona, shares insights on her latest release It's My House on Dobar House, her journey in music, and the energy that fuels her passion for DJ-ing.

Who are you, and what do you do?

I'm NESI, a DJ and house music producer from Barcelona. My life revolves around music, both in the studio and in the booth. Currently, I'm a resident at W Hotels and Tunnel Barcelona, and I'm always working on new releases and exploring ways to evolve my sound.

How did your latest release on Dobar House come to life? Tell us about how you started the track, what inspired you, etc.

It all started in the summer of 2024, when I met Tom Bug at the W Hotel in Barcelona. We got along really well, shared several parties in Barcelona, and kept in touch. Some time later, I sent him some of my tracks and he liked one in particular, ‘It's My House’,
which led him to sign it to his label, Dobar House. This track I created after playing at one of Elrow's parties. I thought about what kind of song I would like to play for a confetti shot, and that's how the song came about.

Where was your favourite gig so far, and why was it special for you?

I couldn't choose just one, because absolutely every show has given me something special. Each session is unique; each audience vibrates in a different way, and that is what makes each experience unforgettable. So, if I had to choose, I would say... all of them!

If you had to choose: DJ-ing or producing?

DJ, probably. The energy on the dancefloor, the connection with the crowd, the feeling of being in the moment and making the crowd vibrate... it's incomparable. I produce because I love music and because I think it's a must if you want people to know you and have more shows, but what really makes me happy is being behind the decks.

What's next for you in the coming months?

I have new releases on the way with different labels and several shows at my two residencies at W Hotels and Tunnel Barcelona. There are also some shows scheduled in Europe, so there are some very exciting months ahead with lots of music and new experiences.
