Artist Highlight: Groove Masters

Who are you, and what do you do?

Our name is Groove Masters, and we are a DJ / Producer duo. Lovre is an IT student and Šime has a master’s degree in Nautical Science and is currently working for a company in Monaco. Besides that, we really like to make groovy beats and make people dance!

How did your latest release on Dobar House came to be? Tell us about how you started the track, what inspired you etc.

The moment we get inspired, the creation process itself actually lasts a short time and we are able to finish multiple songs in one day. (At least the idea 😂). That was the case with Grooves & Bongos EP. While making this EP, we were inspired by “tribal” elements like bongos and djembe. 'Life Is Chill' is full of house elements with funky vocals and a raw bassline.

Where was your favourite gig so far and why was it special for you?

Lovre: It was a boat party in Vodice last summer. Small intimate party but great vibes. Also, it was challenging mixing and holding the DJ gear while waves were hitting our boat!

Šime: Definitely Hideout Festival on Zrće beach and I would like to mention an after party on Queen's beach in Nin where I was not even supposed to play. 

If you had to choose: DJ-ing or producing?

Lovre: DJ-ing for sure. I truly love to see people dancing.

Šime: If I had to choose between production and DJ-ing, I would choose production. DJ-ing is my passion and something I would actually like to “do”. In the process of creating songs and interacting with the audience itself, I feel most at home.

What's next for you in the coming months?

We are looking forward to the summer festival season, especially the Selected Festival on Zrće beach and Zadar Sunset Festival, where we are part of an organization. Recently, we became part of Nexum Management and are looking forward to new adventures.

Why is Dobar House the best label on the planet earth?

It is! Tom gave us the opportunity to release our first EP back in 2019 and we are grateful for that. Elena is a creative mastermind, and it is a pleasure working with her.
